Beach crowds, fishing...staying near lake

I'm looking at a condo for the week of 6/12-6/28. It's directly between Lake Carolina and the ocean. Looks like a 3 story building with one condo on each floor. We are die-hard Holden Beach vacationers but would love to find something more for our kids to do this summer, and Carolina Beach looks like it has a lot to offer. But, we have some concerns... is this beach crowded? And we plan on doing a lot of fishing...can you fish at the lake as well? Thank you for your help!

I don't think the beach will be that crowded in that area. Doesn't look like any big hotels or high rises along that stretch of beach. But...if the beach is "short" or high tide comes in that will of course make it seem more crowded.

Really not sure if there is fishing at that lake. There are other activities there, paddle boats, playground, fitness trail. It is a very nice lake. (I think it is one of the largest freshwater lakes that is closest to the ocean in the US)

There is fishing at Kure Beach Pier just a few miles down the street. Be sure to go there anyway, just to walk out on it. Very large, popular pier. Maybe have dinner at Big Daddys across the street first. Also check out Pops Ice Cream stand on Lake Drive and also Squigleys Ice Cream. Both are so good!!

Be sure to take the kids down to the NC Aquarium down past Kure Beach and stop at Ft. Fisher battle ground and museum. You should also get on the ferry in Ft. Fisher and go over to Southport. Kids will love the ferry!.

Have a great time....(we love that Carolina/Kure Beach area!)
