That is what I'm hearing. They approved the sales in the casino last Thursday. But when does it start? I'm going next weekend! Anyone know?

Yeah, I will be there this whole weekend. Kinda hoping it doesn't start before I get there...that just means more and more people will probably be there in my way! haha I'm just gonna make my drinks in my room and then go play. But all I can find on the internet is that they have approved to sell it in the casino but no word on when it starts. I wonder if it starts in Jan for the new year, maybe?!

Does anyone know if drinks will be free, like in Vegas or AC? I've been to Harrah's Ak-Chin in AZ and we had to pay for drinks, kind of a bummer when you're already losing money gambling!

TIA,

Just looks like another way for you to [literally] "p" your money away?

I was thru Cherokee 2 wks ago and it looked like they were building 4x the casino they already have. Is business THAT good?

I would save that business is great for them. Getting a room in the Casino hotel is hard. I know that it is the main thing for tourist to do in Cherokee now. A lot of other things in town is slow.

Just to give you an idea of the size of the expansion. In January 2007 the tribe approved the expansion which will be finished in 2012. the cost of the expansion is 650 million dollars.

I received an email from Harrah's last week about the newly approved alcohol.

Alcohol is now being served as of 12/21 BUT they are only serving beer and wine in the casino (cocktail waitress and drink stations) and it is by PURCHASE ONLY. You can get mixed drinks in VIP and resturants. So you gotta shell out the money if you wanna drink. ((Hope they still will continue to have the free soda stations)) If anyone goes please let me know!!

Alcohol sales hours in the casino are as follows:

7am-2am on Mon-Sat

12pm-2am on Sunday(NC law that it not be sold until noon)
