Restaurant near Indian Village?

We're considering spending one morning at the Indian Village. Are there any decent restaurants nearby, preferably within walking distance?

Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean by the "Indian Village". Do you mean the town of Cherokee which is located in the Cherokee reservation?

Cherokee is not a large town, but it does run a good ways as far as walking from one end of town to the other. Perhaps you could advise where you are staying for recommendations from others regarding dining and activities.

No, not the town. The recreated 1750 Indian Village. I believe the official name is Ocunluftee (and I'm sure my spelling is way off on that;-) Indian Village.

You are very close with the name! Oconaluftee Village is near the main business area of Cherokee, but generally not within walking distance for most. Dining is somewhat limited in Cherokee. Nothing as good as the Amana Colonies for example!

A good choice in Cherokee is Peter's. I would recommend driving just a few miles away to Dillsboro and dining at the Jarrett House in the downtown village. It is a true southern dining stop, causal in nature and one of my favorite places to dine anywhere. It is only open seasonally. It is an ole train stop hotel with wonderful southern food.

Some may advise about the dining in the casino as I count myself in the group that is pretty decent in math and thus have never visited it.

From the indian village there are not really any places within walking distance. Cherokee does not have a lot of food choices. For breakfast Peter's pancakes is really good. There is a place just before DQ that is okay, I cannot remember the name but it looks like a house with a porch on front.

The restaurants in Cherokee are limited if you are looking for good food. I would suggest dining at the casino if you want quality food. There is also an excellent bar-a-que restaurant near the casino.
