I have talked my husband and 17-year-old son into visiting Cherokee with me, because I have always wanted to see the Indian Village and museum there. They have no interest in it, they don't fish, and I am the only one interested in gem digging or in visiting the Biltmore Estate. We have decided that they will spend one afternoon of our 3-day stay doing white water rafting, while I visit the Indian village. Also, my husband is also not interested in the casino and my son is probably too young, so I am looking for other things for them to do in the area. Any suggestions? My son does like the outdoors and my husband will go along with him just to have something to do. We are a little concerned when people talk about the commercialism of the area, but we have decided to stay in Cherokee itself because our visit is such a short one.
