Driving to the beach in Corolla

We're thinking of staying soundside in Corolla, but would like to to be able to go to the ocean as well. Are there places to park in other communities so that we can go so that beach?

Yes, there is public parking in certain areas such as the Villages at Ocean Hill. Please note, however, that some soundside communities are perfectly walkable to the beach and this will be your best bet.

Some have a jitney, like Currituck Club. Public parking can be difficult at those spaces provided for it in the summer. Some people will drive the family, drop everyone and everything off and then return by jitney.

There are lots in Whalehead about every 4 streets or so. If you look up on Google you'll see where the public lots are. It's still about a block to the beach but there is public access.

As others have mentioned, there is also some areas that will have a "club" that will get you over to the ocean from the sound side areas.

If you stay soundside in the Currituck Club area there is a shuttle that is awesome. Or, as the previous people noted, some neighborhoods are totally walkable (like Magnolia Bay).
