Where to stay for 4 nights in April

Looking for clean, affordable and no frills with ocean view and sound. Not interested in shopping, swimming pools, etc and this part of National Seashore sounds good. Don't expect to be swimming but like to walk along beach and explore OBX a bit.

Wondered if anyone familiar with Sea Gull Motel or other suggestions?

Want to see a place in Emerald Isle and wondered if doable in a day trip from here?

Not sure about hotels in Hatteras, I've always rented houses in OBX.

But you asked about getting to Emerald Isle, its not that easy of a day trip. It would take you about 4 to 4 1/2 hours to get there from Hatteras.

If you stayed closer to Nags Head it would take you about 3 1/2 hours.

I have not stayed at the Seagull, but know that it is fairly new- having been rebuilt after Hurricane Isabel. It is right on the ocean so teh view can't be beat!
