The Lodge Versus 1927 Lake Lure Inn?

Is it really worth the substantial difference in price to stay at the Lodge versus the Inn?

Thank you.

We stayed at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn. It was nice - good location, decent rooms (not real big, but had "character"), right across the street from the Lake, walking distance to a couple of restaurants. We would stay there again.

The Lodge. Was there last week end. Right on the water, great breakfast, very homey and casual. When you look at the rooms attempt to get one facing the lake in the main lodge building. There is a separate building and I cant say what the rooms are like but I've seen all the rooms in the Lodge and they are nice.

The Inn is probably ok but it's across the street from the lake and the beach area is fee based and has alot of day visitors there. Plus you are on the main drag which can get busy on the weekend.

The Lodge has a large boathouse with decks for sunning, reading, or you can swim off of it or there is a smaller pier also for swimming.

Rent a pontoon boat for two hours. Thats all it takes to cover sight seeing on the lake and leaves time for a dip in water which is perfect this time of year.
