Since a Thanksgiving meal is mentioned I assume you will be in Murphy the latter part of November.

Here is a link (from this website) on some suggestions on what to do while in Murphy

tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g49381-Activitie…

A few other things would be:

hit the shops that line Main St. (Moose Hollow is a neat store). http://moosehollow.com/

Just down the road a little bit is the John C. Campbell Folk School (https://www.folkschool.org/). You can take a tour, walk the grounds, purchase items from their store, or even call ahead and make arrangements to have lunch or dinner there.

https://folkschool.org/index.php. I do not know their hours so you might call ahead and find out.

In a town just about 15 miles away (Andrews, NC) there is a zipline: the in (Andrews NC)

http://ridgerunnerzips.com/

Hope that helps some.

p.s. sorry but I don't know who will be open for a Thanksgiving meal?

There are many outdoor activities but weather is a factor. Hiking, horseback riding, biking, and visiting waterfalls are popular. A day trip to the Cherokee Indian reservation is a great thing for kids. Fields of the Woods is a free Biblical park with the Ten Commandments on the side of a mountain. Wagonmaster Ranch offers everything from gem mining to rock wall climbing. The Trail of Tears goes through Andrews and is featured in the local museum.

I think that Doyle's Cedar Hill is open for Thanksgiving, but check with your hotel - they should know.
