Nags Head or ? with grandchildren

We are planning a trip to the Outer Banks with our grandchildren, ages 11 and 9. The beach is of primary importance for these Midwest children. Any ideas of areas (Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills or ?. Also, we would like 2 adjoining rooms with a kitchenette and would appreciate names of hotels, etc. many thanks!

Hi janetb39 and welcome to the forum! You might try the following:

Blue Heron, Colonial Inn, Colony IV, Days Inn Oceanfront, Owens, First Flight Inn and Outer Banks Motor Lodge.

Good luck and hope you find something available that meets your needs.

You might want to look at the Village of Nags Head. It consists of houses some small and some VERY Large but the beach is beautiful there and they also have a beautiful pool besides a golf course. There are houses on the "sound" side as well as the Ocean side.It is a "year round community as well as seasonal rentals. You may find that it is more economical then a hotel and because of the overbuilding and the economy it is possible that the owner of the house will be willing to "negotiate".
