Dogs at OIB

This will be our 10th year of visiting OIB and we are thinking about bringing a couple of our dogs with us. (Border Collie-Aussie mixes) I know they can't be on the beach between 9 am and 6 pm. What are some of your experiences with bringing your dogs to OIB? Any pet friendly places to eat?

The Islander Inn is a pet friendly hotel in select rooms. Not sure of any place to take your dogs to eat with you. Sure your dogs would be happy being left in a hotel room alone?

We travel with our dogs a lot competing in dog sports and really surprised at dog friendly places to eat. And if not, our dogs will be fine in the room long enough for us to run out to eat....they are pretty seasoned travelers! :)

We just usually don't bring them on vacation with us to OIB!

Thanks!

Actually unless the laws have changed dogs are permitted on the beach anytime as long as they are leashed.

As to restaurants, unless your dog is a service animal you will not find any indoor restaurants that will allow dogs. NC laws do exclude pets from outdoor seating areas, but give restaurant owners the final word to approve their presence.
