East OIB - status of beachfront?

We have stayed on OIB for several years now, on the eastern end. However, last year, the beach was totally gone at high tide. We don't stay at the tip, but aren't terribly far away either. Does anyone know what the beach is like this year? Basically our beach time was cut in half due to the underwater status of the beach. We have a large group...so to go to a different location further west on the beach isn't really an option.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how far east you will be. We are staying at "A Pirates Life" (376 E First, two houses over from the Greensboro St beach access - 8 rooms, sleeps 26). The beach here is very wide. I would guess about 100 yards of sand to the high tide line. It is about 2 miles from the pier, so halfway between the pier and the far east tip of the island. OIB had a beach renourishment this spring, so even further east on the island there is a lot more beach than there was last year.
