NC State Game in October

I'm thinking about attending the NC State vs. FSU game on Oct. 16, 2008. What is the weather like that time of the year? Any good upscale hotels close by or is traffic not an issue...?

Thanks!

Raleigh weather is beautiful that time of year. Average temp will be about 68. Excellent weather to watch football in. Of course, we can have extremes, it could be hot, or chilly. Hey, this is NC and we can have huge temp swings then.......

Closest hotel is the Comfort Suites, Arena. The Ramada Inn on Blue Ridge is only a mile away. You can see the reviews on both hotels here on TA.

The Umstead is a 5-star hotel about 3 miles away. Traffic will be quite bad as the State Fair likely overlaps with the game. Nonetheless, it shouldn't take that long to get to the game, especially if you go several hours early to tailgate.

Watch out for the wuffie students that urinated in the stands last year, lol.

As others have said, the weather is perfect for football. This will be a thursday night, nationally televised game so tickets will be not as easy to come by as others. This is also the same day as the opening day of the state fair. The stadium is directly across the road from the fairgrounds so this will be sure to cause extra congestion and some extra parking problems. We have relavitely good parking and a great tailgate atmosphere, where you will find some good natured ribbing from the home team but will probably be invited to a tailgate or two for a pregame drink. The hotels arent as close to the stadium as one would hope, but there are a few near crabtree valley mall (5-10 minutes from the stadium). If you are planning on making the trip I would go ahead and get your hotel room squared away sooner rather than later since this is also the fair weekend!
