Meriton Serviced Apartments, Broadbeach or Southport?

I am looking at staying at Meriton Serviced Apartments for 2 weeks in January but not sure which one to choose Broadbeach or Southport. Can someone advise me which would be better in terms of location? We like to go to the beach of a day and bars of a night.

Hi,

Definitely Broadbeach - it fits your criteria perfectly. Lovely beach, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.

You can swim in the water at Southport however I wouldn't recommend Southport as a "beach" location.

There was a recent thread discussing Broadbeach or Southport here that might help you out in making your decision: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g255337-i929-k4662…

Broadbeach all the way. Southport is inland and not on the beach, Broadbeach is also close to Surfers Paradise!

Hi I highly recommend the Broadbeach apartments, I stayed there in April, 2012, they are clean walking distance to cafe's beaches and shops. They have an indoor & outdoor pool, the staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. This is my second stay @ a Meriton property 5* apartments at an affordable price. Great for 1 or for family holidays. Enjoy

I vote for Broadbeach too. In my opinion it's the nicest area of the Gold Coast, and is full of cafes, restaurants, shops and the beautiful beach!

Southport is ok, but it's more of a business suburb with some old shopping, not many restaurants, some cafes that are a bit meh and often shut on weekends and at night, and no beach, though there is the broadwater parklands, which is nice to visit once maybe.

Stevie,

Is there any reason why you are digging up numerous three year old threads?
