The NC Aquariums are at Pine Knoll Shores (near Emerald Isle), Ft Fisher, and Roanoke Island: http://www.ncaquariums.com .

At Topsail, though, there is the sea turtle hospital: http://www.seaturtlehospital.org .

I've been to Ft. Fisher and it is a very nice aquarium, and area, but it seemed like a long drive to me. Too much time away from the beach. :)

If you do visit the Turtle hospital, expect long lines and not really an aquarium experience.

Both aquariums mentioned above are very nice, but both will take 45-60 minutes to drive to from Topsail. We have been to both and we think they are worth the trip.
