Cape Fear Museum

We will be traveling through Wilmington in a couple of weeks and looking at stopping at the Cape Fear Museum. I know they have a special exhibit OCEAN: explore, discover that is with UNCW. Has anyone been to the museum and/or seen the new exhibit? We will have our 8 year old daughter, our 15 year old daughter and a 15 year old friend. Will they like this museum? Just a note: our 15 year old is planning to go to UNCW and major in marine science. Thanks, for any help.

It is a neat museum you can spend a few hours in. We chose a really hot & humid afternoon (two years ago when we vacationed in Carolina Beach). Enjoy.

Personally I was disapointed cuz it was so small. You may have more fun going to the aqaurium at Ft. Fisher, walking the ft fisher battle site, checking out the turtle rescue at Topsail Island, and hitting up Jungle Rapids for the kids to do some fun stuff.

mostly about wilmington history and it has political spin. shows how wilmington was a great farming community until all the evil yuppies discovered it. also has a large portion about black history and the wonderful role wilmington played there.
