Wilmington or Wrightsville Beach for a one night stay

Hi, we will be traveling from Savannah to Charlottesville and want to make an overnight stop along the way to break up the drive. Based on that, which would you choose? I'll also post in the Wrightsville Beach forum. Thanks for your help.

You were not specific on the timing for your trip. If you going in Dec. through Feb. Wrightsville Beach will be pretty cleared out. They do have a Holiday Inn resort that is quite nice during the off season. Wilmington will offer better options on things to do through the Holidays into the New Year. So if you stay in Wrightsville you can get to Wilmington in 10 minutes or so.

If you want to be on the ocean, stay in Wrightsville Beach. If further inland and larger city...then Wilmington. Both are nice.
