take which ever is your local currency.

If you're on continental Europe, then take Euros.

British, then take pounds. USA, take dollars, whatever.

Some travel agents or banks will advise you to take dollars but thats rubbish. Unless thats your own currency it'll cost you more. Two lots of exchange rates and exchange commission instead of one.

We took Sterling Travellers Cheques and Cash. Upon arriving we changed £200 into Sri Lankan Rupees at the Airport. Depending on where you are staying most Hotels change your Travellers Cheques for you.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Hi, just take £ you can change any amount at the local tesco and Harolds shop, better rates than at home, we went in june and got just over 200 sr to the pound, at least using the locals you can change small amounts at a time so your carrying lots of money around, have a wonderful holiday its such a fantastic country and the people are lovely.
