Late opening near Poseidon

We are arriving at Bourgas airport @ 20.30 So it will probably be heading for 23.00 when we get to our apt complex, the Poseidon. Are there likely to be any restaurants open late near the Apts? I believe there is a restaurant in the complex, is it open late?

Ellie,

The Hotel restaurant will probably closed at 23:00. The bar will be open. Two mins walk to the front and you will have access to restaurants and snack bars that typically sell Pizza, Kebabs, Fries etc. I ate in the Possiedon Hotel three time this year. Each time was good food. A good sign as it was busy and food was served in good time and hot. Possiedon salad, Baked potato's, Pork Fillet all good. Also very reasonable. If you are staying there it has a Dr. onsite. Also seemed to cater for both younger age group and families.

Hope you enjoy your Hols. Very close to the Hotel is Marvel Steakhouse and Friends Restaurants. Further on you will see The Island and Emona. We ate in Emona often this year without issue. It also has free WI-FI.

Just ask anyone and they will point you in the right direction. Jusy head towards the Victoria Hotel and veer left, this will take you to the front walkway,

Enjoy your break. Just shout if you need more info.

Ronaldo

It shouldn't take you more than 30-40 min to clear the airport and 35 mins to reach Poseidon so you might be out a bit earlier, there are literally dozens of restaurants in the area many open 24 hrs

Many Thanks Ronaldo and Nmaoban. Further to my last query. I have been looking through past threads and warnings about cards. Are credit cards widely accepted in the resort? is it safe to use them or would cash be better? Looking forward to our first visit soon.

Credit cards not widely accepted. I would bring a little lev from uk. Just to get you through your 1st night. Probably 100 lev would do for the time you arrive. It is safe to use any card in the bank autotellers. Downside is your bank will place a charge of around £1.50 per withdrawal. Best to bring crisp English £20 notes. No tears or blemishes. You can changge these easily in hotels , banks , Crown Exchange booths and Strings exchange booths. You will not require to show a passport. Just carry enough cash to do you for that day. Keep cash and card separate in case you loose one of them.

I was approached quite often this year to exchange in other booths for special rate, just say no as you may have your shirt taken as well.

The rate in resort is far better than offered in UK. When I left it was nearing 2.50 lev to the £. The Glarus Hotel at the front walkway, bout 15 mins from Possiedon was the best rate. Your Hotel may also do a good rate.

Like anywhere just be careful and all will pass safely.

Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, larger supermarkets, petrol stations, etc, you wont be able to use them in most small restaurants or bars., there is a crown exchange office in the main office at Sunny beach Hills directly opposite the rear of poseidon and 50 meters on the right,

if you are exchanging at crown or string you wont require your passport, if you are exchanging in a bank you normally have to show your passport and they will take a copy.

Some banks charge for withdrawals overseas, some don`t , check with your own bank before you go.

Take English notes or Euros, depends where in Ireland you are from, dont take NI notes the rate is lower, any denomination ie, 50, 30 10 notes are accepted at Crown exchange, all Crown offices work on the same rate so it does n`t matter which one you use.

its rare for a hotel to give a good exchange rate, check carefully
