Looking to get lambert and butler at burgas airport, are they the same price as the resort (49lv) or are they more expensive? Also are they duty free and legal to bring back? Need a quick response please fellow travellers :)

They were £21 when we bought them nearly 2 weeks ago at Burgas Airport.

That's 51 Lev so maybe cheaper at resort.

Not sure on allowance as we only brought 200 back for relative as a gift.

From that link, it looks like 200 cigarettes personal allowance from Bulgaria for personal use/not for re-sale.

You can definitely bring 800 per person without any issues. Just make sure they have price and duty paid sticker on the boxes. Any more than this and UK customs may ask you to prove they are for yourself.

Toonman, I thought it was 800 too but then I read this advice and I'm confused now.

The current (2012) duty and tax free allowances when travelling from another EU country to the UK are:

800 cigarettes

400 cigarillos

200 cigars

1 kg of smoking tobacco

110 litres of beer

10 litres of spirits

90 litres of wine

20 litres of fortified wine e.g. port or sherry.

Exceptions to these allowances apply to travellers arriving from:

Estonia: Tobacco allowances are - 200 cigarettes or 250g of smoking tobacco.

Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia where you are allowed 200 cigarettes.

Read previous links Toonman, I can see this has been a well debated subject over the years and subject to 'interesting interpretations' by Bulgarian Customs.

Seems you have to demonstrate higher amounts are for your own use with duty paid and preferably carry a copy of the revised guidelines from HMCS.

Oh glad I stuck to the 200 but nobody seemed to have any problems from what I could see going through Customs here.
