What stores/restuarants will be open on Easter weekend?
Columbia Mall, for instance, is open Friday, April 18 but closed Sunday, April 20. But store hours vary, so I suggest contacting the local visitors bureau for the town that you plan to visit. You can find a list of them at: www.ndtourism.com/listings/visitor-servicesEdited: 07 April 2014, 18:20
Most malls and stores are closed Easter Sunday (though ones like Walmart can be). Many restaurants do an Easter brunch on Easter Sunday....let us know what area and we can help find you some options!
We are planning on meeting my parents in Minot and spend the Easter weekend there for a change. They are living in Saskatchewan we are now in Manitoba...........it has probably been 30 years since I have been to Minot. What is / are the best shopping malls or discount big box stores ? and say on Saturday evening is there a good Casino in Minot or very close........if not any other suggestions? We were really hoping to spend some time in a casino but I can't seem to find one? We are also planning on staying at the Four Points Sheraton.........restaurants or things close by ? Any feedback on the hotel itself and/or area?Edited: 13 April 2014, 03:21
The 4 Bears Casino will be your closest casino (though some bars might have some gambling, I'm assuming you want a real casino). http://www.4bearscasino.com/ It is maybe an hour and 15 minutes or 1.5 hours from Minot. Be careful of oil traffic.
Dakota Square Mall is the main mall. Its very nice. The rest are strip malls in town. They have all the big box retailers like Target, Walmart and such in town. Here is a good link to a list: http://visitminot.org/shop/ That Minot site might be good for you to poke around to see what you would like to do. I'm not sure there's a lot within walking distance of that hotel. But Minot is small enough to get anywhere fairly quickly by car. Keep in mind, Minot is much smaller than Regina or Winnipeg. 43,746 population so expect something more like Brandon in size and amenities.
