Suggestions: rental IN Sechelt?

We'd like to find a place for mid-July to stay in or near Sechelt that will allow us to walk to the beach, to a store, and to a restaurant or cafe or two. Is this possible, and does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Right next door to the Lighthouse pub, kayak rentals off your deck, walking distance to stores and all amenities, reasonable rates, renovated last year.

A location in Davis Bay would be the perfect location for you in Sechelt. It is conventiently located close to the beach, restaurants and stores.

"Downtown" Sechelt also offers beaches, restaurants and stores.

Are you looking for a hotel, a B&B, or a short-term rental?

I just noticed that you were the poster asking about things to do with a toddler.

The recommendation for Bed 'n Boat Cottages is an excellent suggestion. Perfect accomodation for when travelling with a toddler (seperate bedrooms).

So - a follow-up/review, since there's no listing for the cottages.

It's a lovely spot, the cottages is a nice size, it's decently furnished (although the beds were terrible and lumpy). Right next to the water, which is great.

The down side was that it was too loud for a small child - the pub is right next door, or rather, the overflow parking is, which means loud folks on their way to their cars after closing time. (One night there was a birthday party with actual screaming for one entire hour. Not kidding.) Also, the proximity to the pub is fine for those without kids, but kids aren't allowed inside, so we couldn't go there for a meal, which was one of our original reasons for staying there. As a result, we had carseat fights anytime we wanted to go anywhere.

My impression was that, in Sechelt itself, you're either stuck with a b&b or a motel. Cottage rentals seem to be farther out.

Still--we had a nice time, and I'm grateful for the help here!

Hi there. Sorry - just saw this. That blows to read about the noise issues.

My family rented a cottage a few weeks ago and they were commenting on how quiet (yes - it was over a weekend) it was in the evening out on their deck. I guess their timing was better than yours. Also they did not have a little person with them so they may not have been so easily disturbed by noise.

Just to let you know - the parking lot you are referring to does not belong to the pub - it belongs to the District of Sechelt and is a government lot. Not saying pub patrons are always quiet but boaters come off their boats late in the evening and can be very loud - especially if they are partying.

Regardless you are correct - the cottages are located a stone’s throw from the District lot and our most popular pub so noise can be an issue and may be expected. I agree with you that cottages are further out and accommodations in town are few. Chances are better total quiet will be found outside of town.

Magellan’s restaurant next to the pub allows children - but they are still renovating. I was told by staff they were hoping the restaurant would be open in time for summer season but that does not seem to be the case this year.

Thanks for your comments. It’s always great to hear from peeps after their trip and what their impressions are.
