Need advice on travel route from Mackinac Island

Coming from Mackinac Island - what is the best way to get to the Bruce Peninsula? Is there a better way to enjoy Georgian Bay??? We will have 2 days in the area, before moving on to Niagra Falls.

Any advice on places to stay would be welcome as I am finding very little en route. Thanks.

From Mackinac you would have to cross into Canada at Sault Ste Marie.

From the Soo, you have 2 options, take Hwy #17 to the turn-off to Espanola and then onto Manitoulin Island. Catch the ferry to Tobermory.

Spend time in Tobermory as that area is the most scenic of the Bruce. A great side trip is Bruce National Park (Cypress Lake). A short hike takes you to the bay with impressive cliffs, caves, and emerald waters.

The other option is to keep on #17 to Sudbury and then Hwy #69 south. This is actually more scenic, especially the area around Parry Sound. Here you could take the 30,000 island cruise which takes you among the islands of Georgian Bay. Killbear is a beautiful park on the bay and there are other access points.

However this means you miss the brice and it's a toss up which is the more scenic. They are different though as Bruce is Limestone and Georgian Bay is Granite.
