Scuba diving -- how long is the boat ride?

Hi, we're looking for a resort in the area where we can have good snorkling off the beach and a short boat ride to the dive sites (DH occasionally gets sea sick if the boat ride is too long). Excluding Cozumel & Cenotes, how long is a typical boat ride to a dive site, and which resorts are closest?

Many thanks!

Best beach snorkeling off the beach is Akumal Beach Resort but is is a 3 star (small) resort though everything is on the beach,

For 4 -5 stars, try GP, EDSS, CRT, Palladium, Grand Sirenis but everyone goes to Akumal Bay beside ABR for snorkeling

Diving is close at all these resorts

I contacted two dive shops in Akumal and the one at GBP and all three said the boat rides are an average of 5-10 minutes to most dive sites.
