leaving for akumal on saturday - need advice

Our group will be staying in akumal for a week. Can anyone share advice on: good happy hour locations, good restaurant to celebrate thanksgivng in mexico, nearby cenotes, top 3 things not to miss and any feedback/advice on Akumal Beach Resort.

We have been here before for the day and are excited to stay for an entire week.

Thanks!

HAVE A GREAT TIME

Happy hours:

Lol-Ha 5:30-6:30 pm

La Beuna Vida: 5-7 pm

Restaurant: Lots in Akumal: Lol-Ha gets expensive, so walk about. ABR will give you a good time

Hidden Worlds for the Cenote tour - they pick you up at ABR

Try the Jungle Tour - ATVs out of ABR

We also liked the Catamaran boat tour out of Akumal (goto the Akumal Diving Centre) PM me for more details

ABR: They will treat you great

Think Turtle Bay Cafe usually puts on a Thanksgiving dinner, check over on Locogringo, one of the owners usually puts up a post with a link to their menu for Thanksgiving, at least they did last year.

Hidden World currently has a special running for their cenote tours, as well as their all-inclusive adventure package. A snorkel tour of one cenote is $19.95(US), two is $29.95(US). The all-inclusive, pkg. which includes the jungle cycle, rappelinginto a cenote, a zip-line, and the ceote tours, is now $59.95(US). Because of time constraints we only did the sorkel tour of one cenote but it was well worth it. We had a condo in N. Akumal and drove their ourselves - about 10 minutes away. Just a note: to get to the cenotes, you have to ride on benches in the back of a converted truck. The ride is very bumpy as it's simply a dirt road that has been cut into the jungle area. It was not leveled so there's ruts, etc. Makes for an interesting ride but it can be hard on anyone with back problems. We joked that they could probably make some money if they had a chiropracter available at the end of the tour!

Yal Ku lagoon is where a fresh water river meets the sea. Wonderful snorkeling to see underwater rock formations and zillions of fish. Very close to Akumal.

Just a note: entry to the lagoon is not free. I beleive it was $95 persos. There is some parking available but limited from what we saw (we walked from our condo). There is no real beach there, just a small entry area. I'd go early in the day, before the water gets churned up as it's a popular spot and numerous vans full of passengers showed up, making it a bit congested in places.
