How's this for a plan?!

Hi all,

Booked at the Sian ka'an for 9 days 13th June, this will be our (myself and partner) first trip to Mexico.

4 meals booked.. Mexican, brazillian, Japanese and alux.

Looking at trips to coba ruins, xel ha, a cenote and playa del carmen.

What's everyone's opinion have we planned the right things to make the most of our first trip?

If your into snorkling, take a collectivo to Akumal to snorkle with the turtles. Lunch at Turtle Cafe for Lucys fish tacos and or the famous ice cream . Your plan looks good also

Don't plan too much, or at least plan some beach/pool time, it is a vacation.

Thanks for the suggestion, we have never snorkled before so how would this suit complete novices? Can we hire life jackets and snorkel gear?

We are undecided on going it alone or using a tour company for our trips at the moment.

We will still factor in plenty of pool time based around doing a few of the trips for half days or combining a few together.. I'm becoming a control freak trying not to miss anything!

We found virgin to be the best deal, when you initially look it says coba. If you upgrade the room it is then Sian kaan.

As was suggested you may want to plan a half day at Akumal. (mabe skip Xel Ha which is a full day) You can rent gear at the Dive shop and try your hand at snorkeling right off the beach. (No tour needed -use the local colectivo system.) Then get ice cream &/or lunch and back to the resort for the afternoon.

Coba is an interesting runi, a bit out of the way so you may want to investigate a tour or transportation. Some of the private companies such as AGI and others will provide a private, custom tour.

Have fun!
