Wildlife/animals at Catalonia Royal Tulum - please answer!

I have a strange question, but anyone who had been there, please help!

I understand CRT is located in a tropical climate with a lot of undisturbed vegetation. I don't mind seeing iguanas, birds, etc.

However, I am deathly afraid of rodents and small animals like that.

In looking at pictures of Catalonia Royal Maroma, there are a lot of pictures of coatis (?) outside the dining areas and the rooms on walkways. Also, other raccoon like animals.

Are these animals prevalent and common-place at CRT as well?

This could be a problem for me as I would be very afraid.

I want to book today so any input is appreciated.

Don't worry about it. There are really no animals that you need to worry about. Just cutes little creatures that won't harm you. They will scurry away most likely unless you are trying to feed them.

I am with you on the snakes! We had a "small" (that's acording to my husband) python in our room at Alegro on Cozumel one year. I was less than excited about him, I can assure you. Give me a furry critter anyday!

we had a chameleon on our wall this year - they're not furry, only small. Most of the furry animals you will see are not mouse or rat size, closer to cat or small dogs. We've been there twice, seen lots of animals, didn't bother us, never heard of anybody else being pestered by them either.

Realy tho, all kidding aside, CRT does not have any more critters than you possibly could incounter at any other resort in Riviera Maya. Maybe more birds and such that you can actual see.

I'm sad at the lack of coties. Some resorts down there seem to have many but not so CRT. I wonder why?

Maybe because it is fenced in? That would take care of some of the smaller critters, you know the dog and cat sized ones!

I was there last year end of april and the resort had quite a few Coatis there.

One even came up to us at the tapas restaurant.

I had one sleeping in front of our room (building 2000) almost every morning.

We're going back this april 17th for a week.
