Train York - Sheffield. CrossCountry trains run a direct hourly service which takes less than 50 minutes and there are also slower trains.

From Sheffield take the TM Travel bus 65 to Tideswell. There are five journeys a day (three on Sundays) and it takes an hour. The bus departs from Sheffield Interchange which is just over the road from the Railway Station.

Wirewiper is spot on. The only other sensible way to do this would be to stay on the train to Chesterfield and take bus 66 from there to Tideswell (this has a slight advantage as the 66 bus picks up right outside the rail station - see derbysbus.info/times/…066M_110724.pdf - whereas in Sheffield, the Bus station is a 5 minute walk from the Rail Station.

Which method you choose therefore really depends on your train times and how much luggage you have.
