Firstly I suggest you post on a forum in SE Queensland (perhaps Brisbane itself) as Cape Tribulation is about 2000 km north of Caboolture!

Where are you travelling from to get there? It really isn't a holiday destination and I would imagine you would have more choice of car hire in nearby Brisbane however if you do a search on a site such as www.vroomvroom.com.au you should find a good range of options.

Hi all,

if i can, we have just returned from OZ after a months stay, we hired a campervan from a company called Crussin, the comp is based in Tazmania but the camper was picked up in an area called Eagle Farm Brisban, the company was very good and is a part of the Vroom Vroom associates, the camper was well equiped and had all you need in a camper van, this was our first camper experience and we were in the deep end with knowlege, but as soon as we arrived on sites North of QLD regulars were there to help with the set up, just a tip if you intend to do the same people, check out the school hols and the sites that you are going to, we very near come unstuck as a lot of sites were booked up, there is a campers book out for the QLD Dist called, Queensland Caro and Parks, www.caravanqld.com.au this book is very helpfull in every way in finding \ mapping of the sites that are listed, a very big WARNING TO YOU ALL the police are very keep on stopping you at random and for no reason, if you are going to have a drink or two, make sure that you are not using your van for a couple of days, I was at a town called Maryborough there was a diversion and got pulled in a side street and breath tested, SO BE WARNED.We stopped at Hervey Bay BIG 4 ( Good) Bunderburge (Good) but too far out of town, Bagara very good, rigt off the front, Noosa ( Good) but the best of all was a place called Cullum Bay, what a lovely place with the site very close to the Town / eating / and the sea, a lovely walk, so all, have a good one on your trip, one last bit of advice, when you pick up your camper, CHECH, CHECK , AND RECHECK the campers condition including the windscreen, if the are any marks, chips within the Glass, sign for it in that condition otherwise you will pay, also make sure you leave the van in the same state as you find it!, clean everything, fill up everything,& empty everything otherwise you will pay. Good Travelling. Trebor / Jean.
