Suggestions for long weekend in Cleveland

I am surprising my boyfriend with a trip to Cleveland for his birthday in January. We are planning on staying downtown (possibly the Marriot @ the Key Center) and going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Other than that we are open to suggestions. We love live music, funky bars, and any local favorites. I have also considered a trip to Niagara Falls for the day.

So any input, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Check out the playhouse square and the House of Blues. Both in the area and post a schedule of events on their website.

There are some websites to check out for entertainment:

Restaurants and Bars in the warehouse distrcit (between W. 6th and W. 9th street are always hopping on the weekends.

The Marriott is a great hotel, also we have a wonderful Ritz here in Cleveland too.

Niagara Falls is wonderful - however, that depends on the weather. The drive to the falls is right in the Lake Effect snow belt, so if you decide to go, you may have to decide at the last minute in case of weather. Take your passports so that you can go to the Canadian side of the Falls, visit Fallsview Casino for some gambling fun, if the weather is nice, 20 minutes north is Niagara on the Lake - wonderful village with wineries and lots of shops.
