Read the links under "TRANSPORTATION" here. The Red Line rail rapid runs between the airport and downtown. The Doubletree offers guests free shuttle service downtown. I've read that they pick up customers from Tower City, where the downtown rail hub is located. Perhaps call and confirm that.

The transit fee is $2.25 for the trip from the airport to Tower City, less for seniors over 65 and children.

Otherwise, you could catch a cab on Public Square. The fare, including tip, should be less than $10 from Tower City to the Doubletree.

If you want to take a taxi, the fixed fare from the airport to Downtown is $35.50 + tip. There is a taxi dispatcher at the end of the terminal on the baggage claim level opposite carousel #11.

If you are traveling lightly, you can also take the Red Line train to Tower City and connect (for another $2.25 fare) to the Waterfront Line and get off at the E. 9th St./North Coast station. Exit the station, make a right on E. 9th St. and a left on Lakeside Ave. Your hotel will be on the left (a .2 mi. walk/5 min.-Click here for a map: https://goo.gl/maps/sx0F1).

We also have both Lyft and Uber in Cleveland now, if you have a smart phone and have those apps installed. One advantage this has over some of our taxis is both Lyft and Uber take credit cards, and not all our cabs do.

If you arrive before 7 p.m. on a weekday, the free B-line bus trolley may be easier to use than the Waterfront line. The walk is uphill on East 9th St. from the Waterfront station to Lakeside Ave. The B-line, which only operates on weekdays, conveniently passes the Doubletree, perhaps something to keep in mind during your stay.
