Crocodile on Havelock Island

I'm travelling to Havelock next month in April and am a bit worried about the crocodile spotting on the island of late. Does anyone know if more crocodiles have been spotted recently (since the sanctuary is only a few miles away), if there have been anymore attacks, and if there are any precautions that tourists should take to avoid being eaten.

The USA govt warns its citizens planning to visit Andaman Islands about salt water crocodile attacks.

Read 7th paragraph under heading "safety & security" at the following link

Quoting from the above site :

"If you choose to visit the Andaman Islands you should be aware that there have been 24 reports of salt-water crocodile attacks during the past 25 years in the Islands. There have been four fatalities, including a U.S. citizen tourist in April 2010. You are encouraged to seek advice from local residents about dangerous sea life before swimming and should keep a safe distance from animals at all times. "

You should heed the local government warnings, signboards (if any), take advice from well informed locals and be aware of the situation and surroundings at all times.

yesterdays news paper (local) says to the public to not enter in to the water due to report of crocodile in elephant beach. as discussion with a local fisherman in kalapather, i come to know more than 30 crocodile babys are in havelock island. so imagine what will be the future. the concerned authority's is still not doing anything about this issue. we request to NGO's to come in action to protect reptiles as well as tourist.
