Shillong and around

Hi

We are visiting shillong in first week of June and wanted to cover local sightseeing, cherrapunjee (falls and cave), Dawki and single decker bridge near cleanest village.

Question 1) should we be covering umiam lake as well?

Question 2) do you suggest we stay put in shillong and do day trips to cherrapunjee (day 1), then day trip to Dawki and cleanest village (day 2) and then umaim lake (day 3).

Or do you suggest we travel to cherrapunjee stay there overnight, then go to Dawki (stay overnight) and then travel to umiam and stay there?

Umiam lake can be covered on the way from Guwahati - Shillong. It is 45mins before reaching Shillong.

Day trip to Dawki, Mawlynnong can be little tiring, better to halt overnight at Mawlynnong if possible.

Worth spending overnight at Cherrapunjee during the rainy season.

Thanks Bornav. We

We know someone there so will have an accent and scorpio but without drivers.

We are fine to drive in hills, but are the road conditions and rains going to be an issue and we should consider hiring an Innova ?

Hi

The trip can be done on the mentioned vehicles.

The roads in Meghalaya are well built and rain will not hinder much.

I would not recommend day trips (waste of time and fuel). How many days do you have?
