Cab for shillong tour in november

Hi

I am travelling to meghalaya for 4 nights from 7 to 11 november with my wife and have decided to stay for 3 nights at Ri kynjai and 1 night at cherra resort .please advice a good tour operator for all the days right from guwahati airport at 11.30 on 7 to back on 11.since i think hiring a cab would be a better idea rather than going for individual local sightseeing.

please advice

May contact Mr. Pradeep Modak /09863087418 for transport. Book the hotels on your own, that would be value for money.

If Mr. Pradeep Modak is not available, you can always ask your hotel to arrange transport for you or else ask for a quote from a travel agency as per your itinerary or contact the Khasi Hills Tourist Taxi Stand, Police Bazar, Ph 9863023694.

HI Karikor

Sorry as I was travelling was not able to reply .

we 2 couples are coming on 7 nov at 2.30 afternoon at guwahati airport and will be going back on 11 nov from 3 pm flight .

we have book Ri kynjai on 7,9 and 10 november and have booked cherrapunji Resort for 1 night on 8 nov.

the idea is to reach Ri kynjai on 7 nov in the evening and stay overnight .

Next morning leave for cherrapunji resort and do the sightseeing and double decker bridge and overnight at cherra resort .

Again next morning leave CHERRAPUNJI and have to make further plannings as what all places to cover.

since we are 4 of us would like to have a good vehicle right from 7 nov to 11 nov covering maximum places.

you could please advice us about our itenary but since i have already booked the hotels it would not be possible to make changes in that.

please suggest a good cab owner and also planning of how to cover important places at the same time enjoy the serenity of the lake resort.

You can cover Umiam Lake of the 7th, Sohra on the 8th, Mawlynnong on the 9th and Shillong on the 10th. on 11th you can take a chopper to Guwahati airport. It leaves Shillong at 12.30 pm and reaches Guwahati at 1pm. Rates are 1500 per head.

Sadly since you have already booked the hotels (both of them are good), you will have to keep the Double Decker Living Roots Bridge trek in Sohra (since you will not be able to do the double decker and sohra sightseeing on the same day) and the David Scot Trek in Mawphlang as well as other places of interest for your next trip.

Else skip Mawlynnong and do the Double Decker Living Roots bridge trek on the 9th.

My advice is :

7th - reach Rikynjai by 6pm. Halt

8th - leave for Sohra by 8am. enroute stop at Shillong Peak view point, Elephant Falls, Mawphlang Sacred Groves, Lunch at Cafe Cherrapunjee in Mawkdok, Mawkdok-Dympep valley view point. Reach Sohra by 1pm. Sohra Sightseeing dusk. Proceed to Cherra Holiday Resort and halt.

9th - Start the Double Decker Living Roots Bridge Trek after heavy breakfast at 9am. Reach the Double Decker and proceed further till the natural swimming pools. Return back to Cherra Holiday Resort for late lunch by 3-4pm and rest for 1 hour. Return to Rikynjai. Start by 5pm and reach by 8pm. Halt

10th - Start Shillong sightseeing early by 9am as Rikynjai is 20 km or 40mins from Shillong city. If you start early , you can cover other places like Sweet Falls, Smit, Thangsning Falls & the Laitlum gorges apart from the regular tourist places in Shillong city. Return to Rikynjai after having dinner at Shillong Cafe near Tripura Castle in Cleve Colony. Halt

11th - Check out by 9am. On way to Upper Shillong helipad, stop at Nehru park, breakfast at Orchid Umiam Lake resort, boating at Umiam Lake Water Sports complex & Bishop & Beadon falls in Mawlai. Upper Shillong Helipad is 10km or 20 mins away from Shillong city center. Reach Helipad by 12pm. Chopper out to Guwahati for 3pm flight.

Regards,

Karikor Kharkongor
