puri trip

We are planning to visit puri in december with family to have darshan of lord Jagannath.

Last time when we were there we did not get to see the deity as the temple was closed before rathyatra. Can you please suggest if there are any other places of interest apart from konark, chilika lake/satpada,dhauligiri,pipli,lingaraj temple, nadankanan zoo... as we have covered them during our earlier visit through OTDC conducted tours. Depending on the options available we will plan for 1 or 2 days stay in puri.

Thanks!!

Thanks Ashis for your reply.

Our itenary is as follows:

day1-Arrive in bhubneshwar and head straight to puri, have darshan in evening and stay in puri

day2-morning darshan and planning to visit any place nearby puri which can be done in half/full day trip.Night stay at puri.

day3 morning - head back to bhubneshwar for return flight

so can you please suggest what would be the best option we have for sightseeing on day2 ?

Thanks!!

Hi kiran,

You said you have visited bhubaneshwar earlier with OTDC tour. If you move to bhubaneshwar on second day after morning darshan then you can see a few places like Orissa State Musuem, Modern Art Gallery, Tribal Musuem, Maritime Musuem, Pathani Samanta Planetarium, Largest Rose Garden Maintained by Regional Plant Resource Centre, (RPRC) Bhuaneshwar, Bindu Sagar Lake etc. Have a nice trip.

Cheers

6. Re: puri trip

Can you please suggest if the following itinerary would be feasible:

Day 1 Arrive in Bhubneshwar and proceed to bhitarkanika for overnight stay

Day 2 Tour of Bhitarkanika in the morning and back to Puri after lunch, darshan of Lord Jagannath in evening

Day3 early morning darshan of Jagannath and head back to BBSR for return journey.

Please suggest if we need to book any package tours(have been quoted ~30k for five members incl. food & accommodation) or can it be done by taking up otdc package from bbsr for bhitarkanika.

Thanks!!
