Walking track opening hours

Hi,

We will be travelling to Cradle Mountain after a river cruise in Strahan so am assuming we won't get there till after 5. We are staying at CM Highlander cottages and was wondering if we could do the walks near the entrance eg rain forest walk or enchanted walk after we arrive that night. Can you walk on the enchanted walk, have tea at the tavern and then walk back in the evening? We are only there for one night so any extra we can see would be good, we will do the dove lake walk the next morning.

Thanks

Hi,

The walks don't close but obviously you would need to take care after dark and will miss the scenery but pick up some of the nocturnal critters.

Cheers,

Thanks for that, yeah wasn't thinking of a romantic midnight stroll but thought we could get a short one in when we arrive. Nice to have the choice to walk to the tavern for tea if we decide to eat there.

Hi ryanscon,

As OZRCFLYER states, the walks near your accommodation never close, but make sure you have a good torch and even a back up. Some of the waks travel along the river, and in some areas the boardwalks are slightly elevated, one wrong step could have you in a the river all fallng of the boradwalk. Also what time of the year are you arriving, I have tried to walk even these simple tracks in winter and had to turn back because of the amount of snow ;o)

If its a nice clear night you can go into the park past the boom gate with your car (if you have a Parks Pass) to Ronny Creek car park. We take our visitors up to Ronny Creek car park and walk along the western boradwalk for a few hundred metres and usually spot a good lot of wildlife.

Have a great trip.

Safe travels - Robert

Thanks Rob ,

We will be there first week of March, so I assume we will still have some daylight when we arrive, being from Queensland we will enjoy the the later light due to daylight savings.
