Cottage Rentals

I am looking around for a cottage rental for next year in July and everything is so expensive. Can anyone recommend a town to stay in near Sandusky with more reasonable accommodation prices for a week? $300-600 a night is way out of our budget for a family of 6.

Are you only looking for somewhere on the mainland or would you consider Kelley's Island?

If Kelley's Island is an option, Pleasant View Cottages on Kelley's Island are great. Joe, the owner is a great guy and a great story teller. The cottages are clean and well kept. The location is perfect with great views of and access to the lake. Joe also probably has the most reasonable rates on the island. ($600 for the week!)

The main pic of the cabin on the above website is actually our group during one of our yearly visits :-)

Where have you been looking so far? What are your requirements? Keep in mind if you want to be on the water, then it will be more expensive. Check VRBO in Huron, Vermilion, Catawba Island, Marblehead, and Port Clinton.

Check out the house rentals at the Plantation Motel in Huron.
