The Nature Conservancy's Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, a little west of Bartlesville near Pawhuska, has a good size free-ranging herd.

You can see bison, longhorn, deer, elk, and more at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, which is located northwest of Lawton in southwest Oklahoma.

Quoting from this website (www.lasr.net/travel/city.php…)

"Wild, rugged and weathered, the Wichita Mountains offer visitors the opportunity to view the oldest mountain range in North America. In the unspoiled reaches of the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, you are certain to broaden your appreciation of nature and develop a renewed commitment to the value of environmental stewardship. The Wichita Mountains were first designated as a Forest Preserve by President McKinley in 1901. President Roosevelt changed its designation to a Game Preserve in 1905. It the oldest managed wildlife preserve in the United States. The lakes, streams, canyons, mountains and grasslands of the refuge are ideal for hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, photography and other permitted outdoor activities."

There is much more good information at this website.

The Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge has a substantial herd of free roaming Buffalo. They also have a Longhorn herd and you may even see some Elk. There is also a very cool Visitors Center located on the Refuge. There are also other things to do in the area. Visit Medicine Park, Take a very scenic drive up Mount Scott, visit Fort Sills Museaum and Geronimo's Guard House and Grave. Lodging available in Medicine Park and nearby Lawton.
