We will be in OKC for a day. Any suggestions for kids activities. Two little girls age 9 and 6. Thanks!

When will you be in OKC?

The OKC Zoo is really nice:

And right next to the zoo is the Oklahoma Science Museum. This is a hands on museum that kids really like:

If the weather is nice outside, Stars and Stripes park at Lake Hefner might be a good place to run off some energy:

I think that is the park where there are often folks out flying kites. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

And, of course, there's the newly 'remodeled' Myriad Botantical gardens and Crystal Bridge downtown:

The kids would probably enjoy riding the boats on the canal in Bricktown:

What kinds of activities would interest the girls? Give us some ideas and maybe someone can give more specific suggestions.

Have a good visit!!

We will be there Friday and the weather looks good for the zoo. The science museum looks like a good option also. Any suggestions for a hotel close by with an indoor pool and kid friendly dinner spot? Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend staying near the zoo.

What is the price range you are comfortable with for a Hotel? And will you have access to a car?

I would recommend you stay in Bricktown - lots of restaurants there and many more within a couple of miles of Downtown OKC.

A good hotel choice might be the Residence Inn, 400 East Reno Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73104, (405) 601-1701 (Marriott)

or

Hampton Inn & Suites Oklahoma, 300 East Sheridan Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73104, (405) 212-4761 (Hilton)

If those prices aren't good for you, let us know and we can recommend other properties.

:)

The Zoo is a great option but I don't know if you can squeeze it in with the Science Museum. The Zoo is definitely a full day. And I agree with Modcon about staying in Bricktown. It's only about 4-5 miles from the zoo and you'll find plenty to do that evening. Have fun

I would choose Science Museum any day of the zoo and we are avid outdoor family but there is nothing like hands on when you go here!!! LUV it!
