Where to stay/eat

Hi we are planning on spending the evening in Oklahoma City as a stop to our road trip to TX.

Looking for suggestions of where to stay that is safe. Being close to "local bars" would be great.

Also any MUST GO famous Oklahoma City restaurants suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Stay at one of the downtown hotels. The Hilton-Skirvin or Colcord are great, if a little high.

Oherwise try the Residence Inn Bricktown or Hampton Inn Bricktown.

All are close to Bricktown, which is an entertainment area with restaurants and bars. Capt. Norm's is fun with live music. And I like sitting on the patio at Jazzmo Bourbon Street Cafe. Both are on the canal. Another cool spot is The Alley Bar near the ballpark.

If you want a good steak, look at The Mantel or Mickey Mantle's. For something more eclectic, try Nonna's. And less expensive there is Toby Keith's - live music and ok food. And the new celebrity restaurant, KD's Southern Cuisine, Kevin Durant's place touting his momma's recipes. (haven't tried it yet, myself)

Other choices are lso available. Try a local brew at the Bricktwn Brewery.

Have fun!
