Baby shoes

Does anyone know where one can find some relatively hippiesque soft-soled shoes for a 16-month-old in Bend? Specifically size 6 or 7? Long story short: Those ducks at Drake Park are both vengeful and ravenous. If you try to trick them into thinking a piece of parmesan rind is yummy popcorn, they run off with your beh-beh's left shoe--and then they could possibly eat it.

And I bet they don't even bother to write a forum report about the "yummy shoey", do they? Lol!

Oh, dear!

I don't think FootZone carries those sizes but they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Other places to try along with Little Ones would be Topolino (downtown) or Bambini (on Newport). There is also a kids' consignment shop on Greenwood near Old Town Pizza (can't remember the name...).

Did you get a corndog? Hope you are having a nice time in Bend. :-)

Thanks all for your help. We tried every place y'all suggested, and everyone was either out of stock or didn't carry what we needed. Luckily, the shoe store just to the right of Toppolino had exactly what we were looking for. The bad news is that they are a regular shoe store that also caters to adult women and they had what my wife calls "cute shoes." That's pretty much girl-code for "get out your VISA."

Soft Star would have been ideal, but I was under the impression that you could only mail-order them unless you went to Corvallis--which is what we did last time. We stopped by their factory/showroom in May on our way to Alsea and that was great. In Bend, we ended up with something called "Green Piggies," and they'll definitely work for the next 38 days or however long beh-beh shoes last until they grow out of them.

They're exactly like that but they're made out of hemp. Talk about hippie shoes!
