Ahhh...... wine and biking.... two of my life's loves. ;-)

If you're planning to take the train, you'd need to catch MAX (light-rail system) to the train station downtown. And AMTRAK will only get you to Albany, but I believe a connecting bus service is offered to Corvallis, 10-15 miles away. But why Corvallis (it's at the southerly end of wine country), and how long a tour are you planning? Also, you planning to camp, or ?

To answer your other question, yes, you can bike from winery to winery, but road surfaces aren't always great, and there's usually not much of a shoulder. This site might help a bit in your planning: www.eolahillswinery.com/events.php#bike . I've done the ride several times, both the northern and southern routes.

There is a bus shuttle from the Portland airport to two points in Corvallis; it's called the Hut:

Hi...thanks for the help. We are in the planning stage of this trip and wanted to put together our 2 loves..Bicycling and wine. We thought we would stay a few days near Dundee then make our way towards Covallis, then Eugene I guess, althought we are OPEN to a different approach. Please share your thoughts. We will rent a car, it seems the best way to go and lodging will be B&B, hotels, whatever.
