Can't help you with the B&B, but I know there are some nice ones.
From either Florence or Newport, travel inland then head north on Hwy 99W for a pleasant drive. Or, from Newport, pick up Hwy 223 north off of Hwy 20, then join Hwy 22 westbound for a short bit, then 99W north.
Florence to Newport will not take you into wine country, without coming back inland, which you can certainly do.
There are only two wineries, that I know of, with B&B's....one is Wine Country Farm - the other is Youngbird Hill Farm. Both are in Yamhill County in the northern Willamette Valley.
Oregon's wine country is not Napa nor Sonoma. Wineries here tend to be on the smaller size and do not have lodging nor restaurants on site. King Estate is the only one I can think of with a restaurant. Gang, others?
Ack! I didn't read the question correctly...I thought you were driving from Florence to Newport. LOL!
Umm, so, what half-Brit said. :-D
The Black Walnut Inn has a vineyard on site. Will that do? Coming from Newport, take HWY 18 over and that will take you through the wine region.
Was curious so tried Googling -- oregon b&b wine country -- this is what popped out:
As you'll find by reading the websites, not all have vineyards on-site, but several do. Have fun :-)
Other wineries with restaurants, PDXWineaux? Cana's Feast in Carlton, though only open a few days per week. Very nice food though.
Forteheart, you do know that most of wine country - and its B&B's - is less than an hour from Portland, right? Just in case you want to have dinner at one of Portland's great restaurants, then backtrack the next day.
For reasons some of us know, I almost hesitate to offer winery recs, but post back if you'd like some.
mistletoe--I think you safe for a few more hours. I am guessing the frantic postings will start around midnight after the long drive up.
mistletoe, I missed that one! I have not done lunch at Cana's Feast, but I have sent a couple of tour groups there and they said that it was wonderful.
Mtngrl....LOL!!! Too funny. Yep, plug in the laptop and viola, we will see posts from our missing "guest". Sheesh, you'd think some folks would get a clue. Or perhaps we should....after all, our reviews end up in someone else's posts as "fact". LOL!
Mtngrl, I had wondered why it had been so "quiet" today. Now I know, LOL indeed!! :-D
