I was told by the TripAdvisor staff that the following place didn't meet their criteria for a review, but we had such a great time there I had to post it somewhere, so here goes:
Although it's certainly not for everyone, if you have kids and you happen to be in Joseph, I'd seriously consider this as a lodging option. In addition to, you know, sleeping in an actual CABOOSE and all, the lady that runs this place keeps two goats, a horse named Ruby and about 20 chickens or so. Beh-beh (28 months old) absolutely loved this place and will probably never shut up about it. The owner even let us feed Ruby a couple of apples, which is another thing I'll never hear the end of.
I'm thinking that if your kids are between about 3 and 5 then it might not be the most appropriate option, as they will surely climb the ladder up into the bunk beds. But for us it was pretty unique. It has a kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, composting toilet, the two bunk beds, and a trundle bed. The view is pretty typical for Joseph: A big mountain range. $85/night.
