Portland Food Cart Finder

I hope this might help someone, if not now - in the future. It's an interactive map of Food Carts in Portland. Forgive me if this has been discussed already on here.

There are filters for type of food, neighborhood location, hours of operation, etc. I don't know how often it is updated, or where the data comes from - but it is a service of bing.com

Here is a link to the Food Cart finder: http://tinyurl.com/pdx-foodcarts

Enjoy!

Great website, thank you for posting it. I was wondering how I would pick which carts to try. Those filters will help a lot!

That is an often asked question.

I wish we could "sticky" it to the top.

Thanks,

Cool! Thanks for the link. We hope to try some food carts when we visit in June 2011.

I guess we really do have the corner on the food-cart culture in Portland. There are hundreds of food carts available with every type of food possible! I saw one the other day on Woodstock that served chocolate covered bacon! (nope, i haven't tried it yet, but I plan to!)

I also like how they have grouped themselves in "pods" in different parking lots across the city. This makes it great if you don't know exactly what it is that you want to eat, because you have so much to choose from. It's also a benefit when you are with a group and each person wants something different.

More than once the ex and I ended up at the pod near the Galleria downtown - and each of us ended up with entirely different food. I favored the periogies at the Polish foods cart, and he liked the Pad Thai. We also seem to be awash with Thai food - in carts and restaurants as well.

I hope you enjoy your trip. June is usually a great month to visit.

A Traveler Article is a good idea - and probably the most appropriate :-)

I agree with the Traveler Article as well. If no one else has started one, I'll start one.

There are other good resources to help you select a food cart in Portland. One of the first sites like this I found was: http://www.foodcartsportland.com/ and it still is a favorite (that site includes commentary)

And other good sites or articles that should be included?

p.s... ooooo - they even have a book about Portland food carts! foodcartsportland.com/2010/…

OK - I started an article: tripadvisor.com/Travel-g52024-c147646/Portla…

It still could be posted as a Top Question.

Dang, now I want to go find that food cart with the chocolate covered bacon!
