Traveling with 12-year old.

Looking for ideas. Already signed up for Best of Portland

walking tour, Historic Portland Walking tour, and science

museum.

Any suggestions?

Also, need to be near Doubletree Hotel (Lloyd Center) - filled.

and Chinatown. Suggestions for hotels?

Restaurants?

Have heard of a famous donut place - name?

Voodoo Donuts.

Will you have a car when you're in Portland? How long will you be there?

How about a jet boat ride - either the Willamette River or longer on the Columbia River...

Unfortunately, only 2 full days. No car.

Is the aerial tram part of a transportation center, or a separate attraction?

Do you know where to get it?

Am taking 1 walking tour at 2:00 on Sun., then another at 11:00 on Mon.

Would like to find something fun to fill in the extra time.

Thanks for Voodoo Donuts - where?

Oaks Amusement Park for old fashioned fun.

My kids both like the sushi place downtown with a train that pulls the sushi around. I don't know the name, just how to wander there.

Church of Elvis (probably on the tour)

Comedy Sportz has a family friendly show.

Rose Garden and Japanese Garden.

Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Little Big Burger.

Voodoo Donuts is just south of Burnside (I believe on Ankeny near 3rd Avenue). Just look for the line!

The doughnut pace is Voodoo Doughnut (voodoodoughnut.com ). You said science museum, I hope you mean OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry http://www.omsi.edu). Poweii's City of Books at 1005 W. Burnside is one of the biggest bookstores in the world, 3 stories tall, covers an entire city block and has over a million new and used books. The Oregon Zoo is actually quite good, known for breeding elephants among other things.
