Victoria to Portland-Is there another way?

We are planning to depart Victoria on the 11:20 am Clipper, arrive Seattle at 2:05 pm. Then we must hang out and wait for the 5:30 pm train that arrives in Portland at 8:15 pm.

Is this the fastest way to go from Victoria to Portland?

If you take the Coho ferry from Victoria on the first run of the morning to Port Angeles, and then drive down to Portland, that will save you a bunch of time. Just depends on whether you are set on taking the Clipper or not. We have done this and been home by late afternoon.

We were not planning to rent a car. Is there any public transportation from Port Angeles to Portland?

There might be bus service, but I am not personally familiar with it. You might check Greyhound and see.

Yes. I've seen a bus stop across the street from the entrance to the ferry. That exhaust my knowledge of the subject.
