sunday evening, april 6

hi: we're driving up from Forestville, CA to see our son who has recently moved to Portland. He and his girlfriend are staying in the North Tabor area and we have an AIRB&B quite near them for saturday and sunday nights (4/5, 4/6) but he has to work approx 5-8pm (at the latest) on sunday the 6th and i was wondering about an activity or two during those hours, outside of eating....:)....are bookstores open where we are? would walking around Oaks Amusement Park be a viable choice? thanks.

Maybe just a walk on the Waterfront? Sellwood and browsing antiques if any shops are open that late.

It is hard to say up front not knowing your interests.

I am sorry your trip couldn't be longer.

Best,

Mt Tabor is a great area to walk and the views from the top on a nice day are fabulous! You will also be very close to many great shops on Hawthorne and Division. You wouldn't even have to drive if you stick with these suggestions.

As said above, Hawthorne Street is fabulous, and Powell's Books on Hawthorne (& 37th) is open 'til 9!
