Good day to all.
I've been searching this forum and all of TA for info, but so far, finding anything reliable is proving elusive and frustrating. It's either fairly out of date, the thread doesn't answer the question, or the info doesn't apply to the US. I'm hoping asking directly here might prove more helpful.
Does anyone have experience or knowledge of the car rental site Economycarrentals.com?
It seems they are a broker that offers excellent prices that include insurance, but as I'm not familiar with them, I'd like more information before making a decision. The price and the deal they are offering seems a bit on the "too good to be true" side and I'm cautious of what the "hitch" could be. It's been many years since we've needed to rent a car. I'm not sure what "rules" and options might have changed or become standard.
A few details that might be pertinent:
We have valid US licenses, but we don't currently own any vehicles or have other insurances that could be used to cover this, so we will need to purchase insurances for the rental. We need the car for three weeks, so that could really add up.
We're coming in on flight that doesn't arrive until 9pm (and it will have been a 12 hour trip from the east coast for us at that point. We'll also have more luggage than we normally would--2 large-ish suitcases each, plus carry ons-- due to an event we are attending.) Picking up and dropping off at the airport is logistically the best for us, even if it means a slightly higher price.
Are most of the companies operating out of the airport still open that late? Are the shuttles to the various car rental companies that aren't placed directly within the airport still available regularly at that hour?
Thank you in advance to anyone willing and able to offer info. We're on a tighter than I'd prefer deadline and any help will be greatly appreciated.
