Am doing a road trip this summer with grown up daughter , Port Angeles,Seaside,Lincoln ,booked , where to go next , Salem or Portland , shopping , farms or hikes? Lavender farm and waterfalls are on our list To find. thanks for ideas please

All the activities you describe are accessible from Portland, and it's a more popular visitor destination. While Salem has a few nice restaurants and attractions it's more residential. You'll find a lot more to do, in and around Portland.

Check out the Columbia River Gorge area. Portland is a beautiful city to explore! :).

Lots of hikes in Gorge. Wahkeena to Multnomah Falls is interesting. Up Eagle Creek a possible. Walk to Bridal Veil is short and worth it.

You'll find farm stands in most rural areas. There are summer farmer's markets all over on different days of the week. Click on the blue link for a list along the coast:

You'll find great waterfalls at Silver Falls State Park south of Portland; also the Columbia River Gorge.

Just so you know, both Seaside and Lincoln City are quite busy and congested in the summer :-(
