Sunriver with 6 y/o & 2y/o boys?

We are heading to Sunriver in a few weeks with our 2 y/o and 6 y/o boys. My 6 y/o really wants to go on a horseback ride but it looks like from the website that he has to be 7. What are some things to do there for these ages (family activites, not camp)? Thanks for any advice!

They do have the pony rides for the younger ages - that just do circles in the corral. There are 2 large outdoor pools - the South Pool has a waterslide depending on how daring your 6 year old is. The North pool is more mellow for toddlers. Many of the home rental companies give you a free pass to Mavericks - they have an indoor pool with a toddler play area and a rock climbing wall if your 6 year old is active like my grandson. You have to sign up in advance for a 1-hr lesson - free with entrance. Fort Rock Park is a good outdoor destination. Check out outdoor family concerts at The Village Bar and Grill in the Mall on Friday and Saturday nights - sometimes Wed and Thurs. Their food is good, too.

We liked finding the Head of the Matolious (sp) River, near Sisters. Sisters is a fun town to shop in.

The High Desert Museum and Petersen's Rock Garden are also favs.
